Geo-Caching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers outdoors, called geo-caches and then “take and leave” something to document that you were there. Teams will either disperse around the resort property or around a designated area within the city; supplied with only their GPS unit, instructions and an empty back pack. Teams will find their designated geo-cache boxes using GPS coordinates, they will open the box, read and then follow the instructions. There will be items in each box for teams to take and place in their back packs. The items collected from each box may be either school supplies, household supplies, or necessities for our Troops that can be donated to local community organizations in need. Teams may also be required to participate in a physical challenge before moving on to their next way-point location. This event promotes a healthy lifestyle and a chance to give back to the community but is highly competitive to see which team will cross the finish line first.
